I am glad to learn that Rotary Club of Ghaziabad Chiranjeev Vihar is launching there club website.I congratulate you for this initiative. I wish the new team an eventful year . Your club has been doing tremendous service to the community.

Leadership in Rotary needs personal participation and service needs personal involvement. Rotary will stay relevant so long we are sensitive to the needs of our communities and give our time and resources to make difference. As you begin a new Rotary Year,I encourage you to recall the reasons you first joined your Rotary Club,Did you join for the fellowship,or perhaps to engage in professional camaraderie?May be you wanted to participate in service projects happening in your own community.Or possibly ,you were intrigued by the idea of working with other Rotarian to participate in activities that promote international understanding.
Members join for many different reasons,but whatever initial reason you might have had,each Rotarian shares in a deep commitment to Service Above Self.This idea has drawn clubs in every corner of the world.It is this precise shared characteristic of service that truly binds all 1.2 million Rotarians working together in clubs and districts across the globe.

I am pleased to know that Rotary Club of Ghaziabad Chiranjiv Vihar, RI District 3010 is setting up a new website for their Club and have plans to thus reach out to Rotarians of their Club, other Rotarians and even non Rotarians. In Communication lies our secret to reach out to people, not just our own members but many others who know little about Rotary and the good work it does for the community. Setting up a Club Website is one such step in the right direction.Unless we have a good image and awareness about Rotary activities in our community, neither we can have strong and vibrant clubs nor can we enhance our capacity to increase humanitarian service in a meaningful manner.

To enhance our Public Image we need to - Unify Image and Brand Awareness; Publicize action-oriented service; Promote Rotary’s core values; Emphasize vocational service; and, ensure that our Club exploits its networking opportunities and signature activities.

I am well aware that meaningful projects when taken up by your Club will eventually result in BUILDING COMMUNITIES – BUILDING CONTINENTS.
I wish Rtn Dr Ajay Kumar, President, Rtn Nisheeth Srivastava, Secretary and all Members of Rotary Club of Ghaziabad Chiranjiv Vihar, RI District 3010, all success in their plan to set up a club website.

It is indeed heartening to know that Rotary club of Ghaziabad Chiranjeev Vihar is developing its E Bulletin and website. Congratulations for same.

Using computer/internet technology to facilitate communication within a rotary club and between club and District/R.I. will go a long way in providing text and visual messages on rotary to all concerned at economical cost.

As it is, most rotarians and rotary entities are computer savvy and we should use this medium to communicate more often with all rotarians. With time if you make the website interactive, you would enable members to keep their contact data updated as well as contribute articles and other important information to each other on the net.

The greater challenge will be to keep the website current and maintain it . Many a good website projects fall into disuse with time. The initiating leadership does a good job but coming leaders may not be interested in maintaining the website. Therefore it would be a good idea to form a team of present and future rotary leaders and keep them involved and motivated in maintaining the website.The E bulletin may be regularly posted on the website.

You may also like to hold special demonstration lessons for club members as to method to access the website, navigate around it and make changes in their personal profiles/contacts if your website allows such a feature.

First & foremost It is my pleasure to congratulate you on your installation as the President of your prestigious club for the Rotary year 2010-11. My best wishes go out to your team members also, who have pledged to work with you during 2010-11.
I am happy to know that your club is launching a club website under your dynamic leadership. A Club website is not merely a collection of your membership ; club details, display of the works and activities to be carried out by your club. It is an expression of the dedication and commitment of your club members to reach out to a large audience throughout the world in our mission to serve the communities needing our help. In these modern times, more ; more people are turning to the Internet to find information. And if you don’t have a presence on the Internet you will only be making it more difficult for people to reach out to you. Websites have no boundaries as far as place or region or country is concerned. They help us in Building Communities- Bridging Continents in an important way.

You have chosen to serve your club because you love Rotary and want to see Rotary grow and thrive. We as Rotarians want to reduce the suffering in this world through our fellowship and service. As you perform your duties, remember that service is at the heart of Rotary. Let us discover the real joy and satisfaction that comes when we share our time,energy, and resources with the people of the world in serving the society. Service is the true magic of Rotary.

In this materialistic world, it is not important to just have money, what is important is the spirit to share it with the downtrodden sections of the society who need it the most. We,as Rotarians, have a dream, a dream of a beautiful world where an ordinary man can live in peace and be able to work with some sort of dignity. And that dream awaits us. Our dream of peace can’t be made real until we have fed the hungry, taught the illiterate to read & write,housed the homeless & answered all of those cries for help that otherwise soon be the cries of pain & then roarings of strife. A candle as they say loses nothing if of its light by lighting another candle. Through your efforts & through you, Rotary can continue to make a contribution of the first importance and we can continue the magic of Rotary. We can continue to shed our light so that others may see beyond the daily hardship and share our hope for a brighter tomorrow as we focus on Building Communities-Bridging Continents.
